About Nixia
This privacy policy applies to the Nixia app for mobile devices, created by Jennisika Boodhoo ("Service Provider", "we", "us"). Nixia is available as a free app with optional paid features.
Nixia is a self-awareness and habit-tracking tool designed to help you understand your own patterns. It is not a professional support service and is not a replacement for speaking to someone you trust.
Account information
- Email address (required for account creation and sign-in)
- First name and last name
- Profile picture (optional, uploaded by you)
Habit and reflection data
- Habits you create and name
- Whether a moment was logged as an urge, a slip, or a moment you got through
- How intense the urge felt (rated 1–10)
- How you were feeling before and after a moment
- Thoughts you choose to write in your own words
- Context you provide when logging: where you were in general (Home / Work / Out — not your GPS location), whether you were alone, and how much time you had
- Strategies suggested to you and whether you found them helpful
Pattern data
- Patterns identified from your reflection text by our AI
- Insights computed from your logs over time: emotional patterns, time-of-day patterns, and how well different strategies worked for you
Notification data
- Automatic reminders scheduled by the app on your device — 30 minutes after you commit to a substitute strategy (to ask if it helped) and 1 hour after logging a moment (to prompt a short reflection). These are stored on your device only, never on our servers.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your GPS location, contacts, or camera access, and we do not collect any data unrelated to habit tracking.
- To run the core features of the app: logging moments, reflecting, and showing your patterns over time
- To suggest strategies that fit your situation when you have an urge
- To send reminders to your device for follow-up reflections and check-ins
- To improve the app over time
- To contact you about your account when needed
When you write a reflection, the text you write is sent to OpenAI's API. This is how the app identifies patterns in what you share — for example, whether stress or boredom tends to come up before a tough moment. This is the only personal data sent to OpenAI.
Your reflection text
- Is used only to generate your personal in-app patterns and insights
- Is not stored by OpenAI for training their models
- Is not shared publicly
- Is not sold or used for advertising
- Is not used to build profiles outside Nixia
OpenAI API terms
OpenAI's API terms state they do not train on API inputs. We use a paid API plan where this applies.
Nixia scans the text you write for certain phrases that may suggest you are going through a very difficult time. This happens automatically as a care feature.
If those phrases are detected
- Your entry is flagged so pattern analysis is paused
- You are shown in-app support resources and signposting
- No one else is contacted or notified — not emergency services, not any third party
Important
This feature only shows you resources. If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency number.
Supabase
We use Supabase to store your account data, habits, reflections, and progress. They process data on our behalf under their data protection obligations.
OpenAI
Your reflection text is sent to OpenAI's API for pattern detection. See Section 3 for full details.
Apple Sign-In
If you sign in with Apple, Apple processes your name and email for authentication only. You can use Apple's private relay to keep your email address hidden.
No advertising networks
We do not use advertising networks or analytics SDKs. No other third-party services process your data.
We may share your information only in these situations:
- When required by law
- To protect the safety or rights of users or others
- With service providers who help run the app and are bound by this policy
You can delete your account and everything in it two ways:
- In the app: Profile → Delete Account
- By email: nixiateam@gmail.com
What gets deleted
Everything — your habits, reflections, insights, and account — will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
You can stop all data collection at any time by uninstalling the app or deleting your account.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Once you delete your account, everything is removed within 30 days. For earlier removal, email us at nixiateam@gmail.com.
Nixia is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you think a child has created an account, contact us at nixiateam@gmail.com and we will remove it promptly.
All data travels over secure HTTPS encryption and is stored on Supabase's infrastructure. We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data. Contact us at nixiateam@gmail.com to make a request.
Important disclaimer
Nixia is a personal habit awareness tool. It is not a counseling service, a support line, or a substitute for talking to someone qualified to help. If things feel overwhelming, please reach out to someone you trust or a support service in your area.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will appear here with an updated date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
By using Nixia, you agree to your information being used as described in this policy.
