Nixia is a self-awareness and habit-tracking tool designed to help you understand your own patterns. It is not a professional support service and is not a replacement for speaking to someone you trust.
Contents
Information We Collect
Account information
A unique account id (created when you first open the app, including as a guest) Email address (required when you create or sign in to an account) First name and last name Profile picture (optional, uploaded by you)
Website waitlist
If you join the App Store waitlist on nixia-app.com, we collect the email address and country you submit We use this only to email you when Nixia becomes available on the App Store in your country — not for advertising Waitlist submissions are stored by Netlify Forms, which hosts this website To be removed from the waitlist, email nixiateam@gmail.com
Habit and reflection data
Habits you create and name Whether a moment was logged as an urge, a slip, or a moment you got through How intense the urge felt (rated 1–10) How you were feeling before and after a moment Thoughts you choose to write in your own words Context you provide when logging: where you were in general (Home / Work / Out — not your GPS location), whether you were alone, and how much time you had Strategies suggested to you and whether you found them helpful What you want to learn (for example, learning goals) and any Personalise choices you make about strategies Optional feedback: thumbs on an insight card, quiet-week check-in answers, and in-app feedback you send us Settings you choose, such as support mode and whether you want proactive reminders
Pattern data
Patterns identified from your reflection text by our AI Insights computed from your logs over time: emotional patterns, time-of-day patterns, connections between them, and how well different strategies worked for you
Notification data
Reminders scheduled on your device only: about 15 minutes after you choose a strategy (to ask if it helped); a quieter-day check-in a few days after your last log; a “your sky has been updated” reminder when there is something new to see; and, if you are on Pro and have opted in, a gentle reminder before a time that has often been hard for you. These scheduled pings stay on your device. Your reminder preferences (for example, proactive reminders on or off) are stored with your account so they work across sessions.
How We Use Your Information
To run the core features of the app: logging moments, reflecting, and showing your patterns over time To suggest strategies that fit your situation when you have an urge To send on-device reminders: strategy ratings, quieter-day check-ins, sky updates, and optional proactive support To improve the app over time To contact you about your account when needed If you joined the website waitlist, to email you when Nixia is available on the App Store in your country
AI Pattern Detection
When you write a reflection, the text you write is sent to OpenAI's API. This is how the app identifies patterns in what you share — for example, whether stress or boredom tends to come up before a tough moment. This is the only personal data sent to OpenAI.
Your reflection text
Is used only to generate your personal in-app patterns and insights Is not stored by OpenAI for training their models Is not shared publicly Is not sold or used for advertising Is not used to build profiles outside Nixia
Supportive Content Detection
Nixia scans the text you write for certain phrases that may suggest you are going through a very difficult time. This happens automatically as a care feature.
If those phrases are detected
Your entry is flagged so pattern analysis is paused You are shown in-app support resources and signposting No one else is contacted or notified — not emergency services, not any third party
Third-Party Services
Supabase
We use Supabase to store your account data, habits, reflections, preferences, feedback, and progress. They process data on our behalf under their data protection obligations.
OpenAI
Your reflection text is sent to OpenAI's API for pattern detection. See Section 3 for full details.
Apple Sign-In
If you sign in with Apple, Apple processes your name and email for authentication only. You can use Apple's private relay to keep your email address hidden.
Mixpanel
We use Mixpanel for product analytics (for example, which screens you open and when you create a habit or reflection). We identify you with your Nixia account id so we can understand how the app is used over time. We do not send your reflection text, moods, or crisis content. Mixpanel processes this data on our behalf. You can request deletion of your analytics data when you delete your account.
Netlify
This website is hosted on Netlify. If you join the App Store waitlist, Netlify Forms stores your email and country so we can notify you. That waitlist data is separate from your in-app reflections.
We may share your information only in these situations:
When required by law To protect the safety or rights of users or others With service providers who help run the app and are bound by this policy
Deleting Your Data
You can delete your account and everything in it two ways:

Stopping Use
You can stop all data collection at any time by uninstalling the app or deleting your account.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Once you delete your account, everything is removed within 30 days. For earlier removal, email us at nixiateam@gmail.com.
